The Anointing of the Sick is a sacrament for those whose health is seriously impaired by sickness or old age. It is a source of healing for the sick rather the final act of the church for the dying.
The Sacrament enables the sick or the aged person to be anointed with the oil of the sick , to experience the healing and strength of Jesus Christ and to be supported by a praying community. The Sacrament may be celebrated during Mass, at a hospital or nursing home, or in the person’s home.
Anointing Masses are held four times per year at 9:15am on the last Thursday of February, May, August and November.
If you or someone you know would like to be anointed but are unable to make it to Mass, please contact the Parish Office and we will arrange for someone to visit.
