First I want to say how grateful we are for the wonderful support that our parishioners provide to us all year round. But I am going to test your generosity again.
Most of you know that we maintain a larder which we use to provide food hampers to people who call us for help. Today I felt a bit like Old Mother Hubbard because when I opened the cupboard the larder was pretty bare. We could really do with some donations to restock it, especially items like:
- Pasta sauces and tinned tomatoes;
- Long life milk;
- Rice;
- Canned vegetables;
- Spreads like vegemite and jam.
St Vincent de Paul Giving Tree
Christmas is coming up very soon and, as usual, we will be preparing Christmas hampers for about 100 families in our parish. We can count on our parish schools to provide the bulk of what we need to fill those hampers. But as we do every year there will be a giving tree in the foyer of the church so that parishioners can also contribute to our appeal. The giving tree will be there from this weekend until mid-December. All you need to do is take a tag and donate what you can. Each tag will specify an item or a cash donation that will help us fill our Christmas hampers.
I know you will support us because you always do. So thank you again and God bless you.
